Farmers undergo agri-training in Mabalacat City

AT least 60 local farmers here attended agriculture training in preparation for their employment program in South Korea.

The training was part of the Mabalacat City Government Foreign Seasonal Workers Program (MCG-FSWP) headed by the City Agriculture Office (CAO) in partnership with the City Public Employment Services Office and Mabalacat City College.

During the training facilitated by CAO Agriculture Engineer III Remedios Magtubo, participants were trained on proper land tilling techniques, tractor driving, operating a hand-tractor, and spraying.

The local farmers also studied six Korean language training modules at the MCC.

All participants of the MCG-FSWP are set to travel to South Korea in August to work as seasonal farmers. They are set to undergo further farming lessons and practical assessments.

The city government launched the MCG-FSWP program in June 2022 in partnership with the South Korean government.
