CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-Central Luzon recently distributed Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic Boats (FRPB) to fisherfolk of Zambales province.

A total of 100 boats worth P4.5 million were distributed to fishermen of Subic, Olongapo and San Marcelino in a ceremony.

The program, which is under BFAR's F/B Pagbabago program dubbed as "Banka Mo, Gawa Mo" is aimed at providing fisherfolks with not just livelihood assistance, but with trainings on fabrication, maintenance and repair of the boats as well.

"It is also our vision to build cooperativism among our fisherfolk in order to encourage community development," said BFAR-Central Luzon Director Wilfredo Cruz.
