MASANTOL -- The Provincial Government of Pampanga, through its Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), on Saturday, August 17, provided relief assistance to residents who were affected by flooding.
Mayor Danilo Guintu said a total of 8,674 relief packs containing rice, canned goods and instant noodles were distributed to residents from various barangays.
The relief distribution, headed by PDRRMO Chief Angie Blanco, was initiated after Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda personally conducted inspection in Masantol and Macabebe last weekend to check on the communities' status.
“After his inspection, Governor Pineda immediately ordered the preparation of the food packs to provide even a little relief to our kabalens here whose livelihood were affected by flooding,” Guintu said.
Guintu expressed gratitude to Pineda and Vice Governor Lilia Pineda for helping Masantol residents and "remembering them in times of calamities such as flooding."
“In behalf of my kabalen, we wanted to thank Governor and Vice Governor Pineda not only for the relief packs, but also for the numerous projects and programs they are giving to Masantol and the people,” he said.
