Flooding affects over 16,000 families in Central Luzon

A TOTAL of 16,864 families or 67,881 individuals were affected by flooding in three provinces of Central Luzon, according to the data from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Central Luzon.

Of the total, 177 families have been housed in 22 evacuation centers in Luzon as of August 4.

In Bataan, some 85 families are staying in 10 evacuation centers while 85 families in Zambales province are now also in 10 evacuation centers. Another three families in Pampanga were also placed in three evacuation centers.

The DSWD had also reported three destroyed houses in Zambales.

Some P249,109 have already been given in assistance to affected areas in Zambales.

In Pampanga, some 35 barangays remain flooded according to the report of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) on Monday, August 5, 2019.

The PDRRMO also reported that some P332,184 worth of rice plants were damaged in Magalang town.

In Apalit, crop damage was estimated at P5.78 million, the biggest so far, followed by Candaba with P3.2-million agricultural damage.
