MABALACAT City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo recently led the distribution of some 124 HP laptop computers to public school teachers under the city government's netbook acquisition program for teachers.

In March this year, local officials issued 1,193 brand new Lenovo laptops to the first batch of teachers.

The second batch of laptops worth P2 million were distributed during a simple ceremony at the Lot Only Gym in Mabalacat.

Garbo encouraged the recipients to utilize their new device in improving the quality of education in the city.

Dr. Ma. Irelyn Tamayo, Schools Superintendent of DepEd Mabalacat Division, expressed support and urged the teachers to keep guiding the youth of Mabalacat.

Rosanno Paquia, city administrator, and Emerita D. Signey, focal person from the Mayor's Office, assisted the mayor during the laptop distribution.

According to Paquia, Garbo is committed to help the teachers enhance their skills on information technology.

"MCG is really committed to enhance the skills of public schools teachers by way of using information technology. Ayaw niya mapag iwanan ang ating mga guro sa mundo ng technology at computerization," Paquia said.
