Guagua Covid cases reach 1,384

THE total number of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Guagua town has reached 1,384, said Mayor Dante Torres on Monday, August 9.

The number of deaths also reached 102 cases.

Of the confirmed cases, 255 are still active, while 72 have already been discharged. Some 955 cases have recovered.

“We are doubling efforts to remind people to keep to quarantine protocols because we are worried also of the arrival of the Delta variant in the country,” Torres said, as the town is beefing up efforts to speed out vaccine roll out in the town.

He said though that vaccine availability is mostly dictated by what is available in the supply for the province.

Torres said the town had allocated some P50 million for the purchase of vaccines once supplies are available for purchase.

Currently, the town is monitoring 44 people for possible infection.
