Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda led the distribution of 29 mini dump trucks to the mayors of different towns in the province.
The vehicles will be used in waste management of the municipalities.
The project is aimed to serve waste collection in remote barangays of the province.
The Capitol said that the project is aligned with the goals of Republic Act No. 9003, or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000, and the 2022–2031 Provincial Solid Waste Management Plan of Pampanga.
"These vehicles are expected to boost the operational capacity of LGUs in implementing regular and segregated waste collection," the provincial government said.
Pineda turned over the trucks to Acting Vice Governor Kaye Naguit, Macabebe Mayor Bobong Flores, Floridablanca Mayor Michael Galang, Arayat Mayor Jeffrey Luriz, and Guagua Vice Mayor Jun Lim.
“The Capitol is funding these vehicles for our barangays, and they’re meant for you. Please take care of the dump trucks assigned to markets and barangays for waste collection,” Pineda said.
Barangay captains from Lubao, Floridablanca, Guagua, Magalang, Sta. Ana, Masantol, Minalin, Macabebe, Apalit, Arayat, and Candaba also attended the event.
The Capitol also turned over a new ambulance to the Pampanga Provincial Police Office, headed by Colonel Eugene Marcelo.
