Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda and Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda led the inauguration of the Pampanga Provincial Dialysis Center 1.

Pineda said the facility is the first of the planned district dialysis centers in Pampanga that aim to provide affordable treatment to Kapampangans.

Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Alejandro Tengco attended the event.

The dialysis center was constructed through the collaboration of PAGCOR and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

“Nabuo po itong dialysis center dahil po sa mga pasyente po na nakakausap at lumalapit sa atin. Sa araw-araw po na nagdidialysis sila, hirap na hirap na po silang maghanap ng pamasahe, pagkain, at minsan pagdating sa treatment may extra charges pa, kaya yun po ang binigyan natin ng solusyon. Bukod sa facility, magbibigay din po tayo ng medical assistance para sa mga maintenance ng mga pasyante,” Pineda said.

PAGCOR allocated P52.9 million for the procurement of 43 dialysis machines and a Water Reverse Osmosis System, while the DPWH contributed P29.3 million for the construction of the building.

Operations of the facility will be managed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) between the Provincial Government of Pampanga and B. Braun Philippines, the provincial government said.

The Provincial Health Office (PHO) said the hemodialysis center can accommodate over 120 patients daily in two shifts from Monday to Saturday.

Each patient may avail of up to 156 dialysis sessions annually, with the assistance of PhilHealth.

The Capitol said that it is set to open four more dialysis centers, including those in the City of San Fernando and Apalit, which is scheduled to be inaugurated next month.

PHO records show that the province is currently assisting 3,494 dialysis patients.
