Guv orders 2,601 more packs of medicines for Covid-19 patients

GOVERNOR Dennis Pineda had ordered the release of an additional 2,601 packs of medicines for people with Covid-19 symptoms who are currently awaiting confinement in designated hospitals.

The medicines were forwarded to 114 barangays.

Packets of medicines and vitamins have already been downloaded in some barangays to be distributed to those aged 15 and above who tested positive for coronavirus in the antigen or RT-PCR tests.

With the first batch of 11,343 medicine packs given to 505 barangays, the total number of packs for Covid-19 patients has reached some 13,944.

As of September 23, 4,154 packs of medicines have been given to the sick.

It could be remembered that Pineda launched the "Gamot para sa Barangay" program to provide first aid to individuals with Covid-19 symptoms, as he ordered the immediate release of medicines to various barangays of the province.

Relatives of the patients may avail themselves of the medicines by presenting the latest testing results to their respective barangays. The medicines and vitamins can last up to seven days.

Pineda said the program is only a part of the assistive care. Patients still need to be examined by health professionals to provide appropriate treatment and care.

The program aims to provide first aid to kabalens with coronavirus symptoms while awaiting evaluation by health professionals or hospital admission.
