LGBTQA+ hits mayoral bet Amos Rivera for 'rudeness'

ONE United LGBTQA+ leader Juvilan Paras, on April 8, 2022, hit Bayung Angeles, the camp of mayoralty candidate Amos Rivera, for lobbing baseless accusations at their political opponents instead of laying out their platform.

“Ilatag yu plataporma, eh kapanyiran na alang basihan,” Paras wrote on social media.

In a separate post, Paras also criticized Rivera for being ‘rude’ when members of One United LGBTQA+ met with Rivera and Bayung Angeles candidates Pie Juan and Jeselle Dayrit.

“Ini ing eh fake news, nyang binastos nakeng Amos Rivera keng meeting,” Paras wrote, “Medismaya ku uling keng pamagbastos ng Amos Rivera keng grupo mi One United LGBTQA+ balamu timpaling kame keng sinabi na, ‘kaybat ning meeting ayni ala kong sobreng tanggapan’.”

“Pekibat ku, ‘meki arap kepo kekayu bilang tao at ekami mamasa nanu mang pera manibatan kekayu, uling eko pelumon manyad kareng politico deng miyembro ku’,” Paras added.

Dayrit, who is running under Rivera’s Bayung Angeles, was quick to respond to Paras in the comments.

“We have so many sound plans for your sector... malungkut ku na ing panamdaman ku ngeni, ginamit muku mung dalan para agamit mu at asira me ing grupu mi,” Dayrit wrote.

“Sabi napung Mayor Amos kareng apulung botanti deng pitu bisa lapang mayap a gobyernu. Balu kuna nung nokarin daka bilangan,” added Dayrit.

Paras’ posts come in the wake of the official statement issued by the camp of re-electionist Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. denouncing the spread of false allegations against Team Lazatin by ‘poser’ social media accounts.

One such social media account, supposedly belonging to a certain ‘Cristal Sicat’, has been unmasked when the real owner of the account’s identity, a woman named Ana Berry, took to social media to appeal for Sicat’s account to be reported as it is using her pictures and videos.

Ana Berry wrote, “Guys PAREPORT po pls. Someone’s using my face... Bacareful sa lahat this is the only account that im using and Ana Berry.” (sic)

At the start of the local campaign period, Rivera stated on social media that Bayung Angeles pledges “to have a clean, honest and fair election” and will not resort to fake news and black propaganda “to deceive our voters from the truth.”
