Lubao college students get aid

LUBAO - Mayor Esmie Pineda marked the celebration of her birthday yesterday, June 28, with the distribution of educational subsidies to college students in this town.

The local government allocated P4-million under its Educational Financial Assistance Program (EFAP) for the said financial assistance.

Pineda said the program is part of her commitment to support and help Lubao youth achieve their dreams.

The distribution of cash grant was held in two venues, with the Santa Cruz gymnasium hosting the students from the western barangays, while the municipal gymnasium gathered the students from the eastern portion of Lubao.

Out of the 2,500 slots offered by the local government, almost 2,000 were deemed qualified receive the financial assistance.

Each beneficiary received P2,000 for the upcoming semester, and additional P2,000 before the start of the second semester.

These funds aim to alleviate the financial burden on the students, particularly those belonging to the poorest families in the community.

Pineda vowed to allocate the remaining slots from the initial 2,500 for graduating college students.
