MABALACAT CITY -- Around 645 school children from three different elementary schools received school bags and school supplies on Friday, August 16.
Sangguniang Panlungsod Member and Committee on Education Chairperson Councilor Krizzanel Garbo led the distribution of the school supplies, along with medical team officer Lenie Rabino and several staff from the office of Mayor Crisostomo Garbo.
250 pupils from Grades 1 to 6 in Monicayo Elementary School, Barangay Calumpang received school bags.
The school's head, Chevy Tanglao, thanked the city government and Councilor Garbo for choosing their school as one of the program's beneficiaries.
In Sitio Haduan's Negrito Elementary School, 124 Day Care and Grades 1 to 6 pupils serenaded Councilor Garbo with a thank you song. Fe Layson, school head, assisted in the distribution of the school bags.
Aside from these, 271 pupils from Day Care, and Grades 1 and 2 students from the Macapagal Village Elementary School received the same school items.
School principal Myra Enriquez, together with other teaching staff, warmly welcomed Councilor Garbo and company as well as thanked the councilor for personally visiting their village.
The program is funded by the Gender and Development Office through the initiative of the City Mayor's Office.
