MABALACAT CITY -- The City Government here has provided some P1.2 million to the Pampanga Police Office which will be used in the maintenance of peace and order during the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections on May 14.
Mayor Crisostomo Garbo, together with the other city officials, led the turnover of the funds to the provincial police Tuesday, May 8.
Rosano Paquia said Governor Lilia Pineda requested some local government units (LGU) in Pampanga including this city to assist the provincial police in term of funds.
Paquia added that the mayor has been very supportive to the Philippine National Police (PNP).
The City Government recently provided motorcycles and other equipment to the local police, according to Paquia.
He added that peace and order is one of the Garbo administration’s thrusts.
Garbo has directed the city police to strengthen its campaign against illegal drugs and all forms of criminality, Paquia said.
