MABALACAT City Mayor Cris Garbo has vowed to increase the number of senior citizens receiving social pension from the local government.
This came after hundreds of elderly recently received cash assistance from the City Government.
The mayor's social pension program is distinct from that of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Garbo's project for the seniors is expected to increase the number of seniors receiving aid from the government.
A total of 1,100 indigent senior citizens will benefit from this initiative. The third day of distribution will be on Thursday.
Garbo said he is planning to increase the number of beneficiaries up to 2,000 senior citizens in 2021.
