Magaleños urged to register for 2022 polls

MAGALANG -- Mayor Romy Pecson has urged his constituents, particularly those who failed to register in the voters' list, to register and be part of the May 9, 2022 Philippine General Election.

The mayor announced that the voter's registration is extended from October 11 to 30 this year.

"Extended po ang ang Voter's Registration mula October 11 hanggang sa October 30," Pecson said.

Interested individuals may visit the local Commission on Election (Comelec) office in the town, the local chief executive added.

"Hinihikayat po namin ang aming mga kababayan natin na magtungo na sa mga tanggapan ng Comelec sa ating bayan para magparehistro at makaboto sa darating na halalan," Pecson said.

(We encourage our fellow citizens to go to the Comelec offices in our town to register and vote in the upcoming elections.)

The Comelec stated that the extension is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., October 11 to 30, Monday to Friday and no Saturdays except for the last day of registration on October 30.

The House of Representatives and Senate granted the request of the Comelec for the extension of the September 30 deadline.

The Comelec stressed that it will not accept voter applicants from October 1 to 8 so that election officers can concentrate on the filing of certificate of candidacy (COC).
