FISHERFOLK from this Masantol town, Pampanga on Friday, July 24, 2022, received livelihood assistance from the government.
Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-Central Luzon Director Wilfredo Cruz personally turned over various fishing gears to beneficiaries in a simple ceremony.
The fishermen received 15 multifilament nets, nine solar lights, a smokehouse, fish vending equipment and four pond preparation inputs.
Cruz said the agency's program is among the services offered to boost the production of fisherfolk in Central Luzon.
"Kapag mataas ang produksyon, tataas din ang kita ng mga mangingisda at mas masisiguro rin ang pagkamit ng food security sa Gitnang Luzon," he said.
