Mayor: “Pinatubo kindled Kapampangan resiliency”

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - The city government here yesterday commemorated the Mount Minatubo eruption 32 years ago.

Mayor Vilma Caluag highlighted the strength and resilience shown by Kapampangans when parts of the province were almost covered by lahar.

Pinatubo eruption,” she said.

Caluag added that the experience during the catastrophic period kindled the Kampampangan’s trait of resiliency among Kapampangans.

The City of San Fernando was among the areas devastated from the natural disaster on June 15, 1991.

Tagged as the second largest volcanic eruption in the 20th century, it also affected other towns in Pampanga and neighboring provinces in Central including Zambales.
