MGCQ+HR in Pampanga extended to September 15

PAMPANGA Governor Dennis Pineda issued Executive Order (EO) No. 17-B on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, extending the modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) with heightened restrictions (HR) until September 15.

Under EO No. 17-B, Pineda has lifted the liquor ban but drinking is limited within the confines of the home.

The order also specifies that towns can implement granular lockdown in areas with a high number of cases of infection from the coronavirus. Neurological services for non-Covid cases are limited to a maximum of three days.

EO 17 imposed serious compliance with the minimum public health standards like the wearing of face mask and shield, distancing of one to two meters, frequent handwashing, rubbing alcohol on hands and cough etiquette.

As per the order, non-Pampanga residents are prevented from entering the province unless they present negative results of reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) or antigen tests done 48 hours before they enter Pampanga.

EO17 mandates the return of border and barangay checkpoints in Pampanga in a bid to manage the spread of the coronavirus in Pampanga, particularly the Delta variant.

Pineda said the extension is due to an increase in the number of cases.
