MNA 2023 bets to get free locally-made shoes

ANGELES CITY — The official shoes for the 19 Mutya Ning Angeles 2023 candidates will be locally made, in line with the city's Angeleño Pa (Angeleño First) campaign.

This is the second time under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. that he tapped local designer for the event.

Bong Gonzales will exclusively prepare the shoes for the prestigious pageant, according to Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, also one of the Chairpersons of the organizing committee of MNA 2023.

Manuel said that MNA 2023 will continue to serve its purpose in involving the local key industries of pageantry, in order to further assist them, an objective by Lazatin.

Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, who is also leading the MNA 2023, said the city government is prioritizing local talents to give them an avenue and spotlight to promote their local businesses.

The city government will provide each candidate with one pair of shoes.

The shoe measurements of the candidates were already noted during their first orientation at the Prime City Hotel on Sept. 14, 2023.

Rosette Ramos-Biag, Marlon Tuazon, and Frederick Policarpio, three of the renowned local designers who also served as members of the MNA 2023 meanwhile gave the specific details of the shoe design to Gonzales.

The MNA 2023 will be co-presented by the Beautéderm Corporation headed by Rei Anicoche-Tan, and is set on Nov. 30 2023 at the Grand Palazzo Royale.
