Former Pampanga Board Member Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab, who lost in the City of San Fernando 2025 mayoral race, has filed an election protest before the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Main Office in Intramuros, Manila on May 22, Thursday.
Lawyer Arnold Bayobay, filed the protest stating that Cayabyab is challenging the results of the May 12, 2025 mayoral elections in the City of San Fernando.
Pineda-Cayabyab is seeking a manual recount of all ballots cast in the city’s 239 precincts
She described the poll results as statistically improbable, including the outcome where she did not win a single precinct.
Pineda-Cayabyab raised concerns over alleged voting pattern anomalies and inconsistencies across voter demographics.
She claimed that these suggest possible digital scaling or manipulation in favor of the presumptive winners.
The protest also calls for the immediate preservation of all election documents and digital storage devices to prevent tampering and ensure transparency.
“This is not merely a protest against election results. This is a stand against the erosion of our democracy,” Pineda-Cayabyab said.
“We are determined to seek justice not just for my candidacy, but for every disenfranchised voter whose voice was silenced.”
She urged the COMELEC to act with urgency and impartiality to address the protest and restore public trust.
