CITY OF SAN FERNANDO---The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has urged traders in Nueva Ecija province to use digital payment platforms to enhance their business transactions like purchasing.

The DTI provincial office in Nueva Ecija said the use of digital payment platforms is in line with the Public Market Digitalization at Paleng-QR Ph Plus.

This is a program of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and Department of Interior and Local Government.

DTI said the Public Market Digitalization at Paleng-QR Ph Plus helps businesses and consumers and boosts the local economy.

The agency said that cashless digital payment platforms reduce the risk of fraud and other transaction incidents like being short-changed.

Some digital payment platforms also have rebates and loans that can be used by businesses and consumers.

The DTI said traders should not be afraid to use digital payment platforms in their daily transactions to support the push towards e-commerce in public markets.

The Public Market Digitalization and Paleng-QR Ph project has been launched in the towns of Guimba, Bongabon, Santa Rosa, Gabaldon, Rizal, city of San Jose in the province.
