New Soroptimist prexy takes oath

BUSINESSWOMAN Divine David-Tulio formally took oath as president of the Soroptimist International of Guagua during the organization’s online installation ceremonies in Guagua and the City of San Fernando.

Tulio was formally sworn in by Governor Gabrielle Venus “Billie” Calizo-Quimpo. Tulio is joined by President-Elect Ethelyn Marciano, 1st Vice President Aurora A. Maglaqui, 2nd Vice President Miguela Santiago, Corresponding Secretary Gilda Ordonez, Treasurer Maria Luz San Agustin, Assistant Treasurer Teresa Mabanta, Auditor Bette Bacani and Press Relations Officer Josefina in the roaster of new officers.

Newly inducted members include Janina Marie Fernando-Lagman, Jennifer Tulio, Christian Logarta-Tulio and Danica David Aguas.

Soroptimist is an international organization for business and professional women who volunteer their time, talents and resources to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world.

Tulio has worked at the Guagua Water District for 26 years, served as municipal councilor for one term and ran as mayor. She also served as president of Quota International and Circulo Fernandino. She established the JDT Foundation for Cancer Victims after her eldest son, Jerome, died and continued also his charities. She is currently a director of the Guagua Water District.

Tulio pledged to continue the legacy of service of the organization towards women. She said more programs will be undertaken under her term despite the hurdles of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
