Onion harvest festival held in Bacolor town

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO The Onion Harvest Festival for Pampanga was held in Bacolor town on Friday.

The Department of Agriculture for Central Luzon (DA RFO 3), through the High-Value Crops Development Program, led the event.

DA claimed that the event was historic because it was the first time onions were planted in the Municipality of Bacolor.

Based on the data, Central Luzon has the highest contribution, with 55 percent, to onion supply in the entire Philippines.

To ensure its security and production, the agency continues to develop programs anchored in the extension of onion plantations.

The Abe-Abe Ortelano Barangay Tinajero Farmers Association is one of the recipients of red and white onion seeds last year.
