P1.36-M worth of shabu seized by authorities

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- Police authorities in Bulacan have seized an estimated P1.36 million worth of shabu weighing more or less 200 grams during a buy-bust operation in San Miguel, Bulacan on Wednesday, September 2, 2020.

Police Regional Office (PRO)-Central Luzon Director Police Brigadier General Rhodel O. Sermonia identified the arrested suspect as Gilbert Catiis, included in the Philippine National Police-Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) watch list and a resident of Barangay Bulualto, San Miguel, Bulacan.

Sermonia also said that Catiis was arrested by San Miguel police during a buy-bust operation-turned-shootout, which resulted in the suspect's injury.

Confiscated during the operation were two big packs of shabu with an estimated weight of 200 grams with a standard drug price of P1.36 million, two small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu, one caliber .45 pistol with magazine inserted, one magazine of caliber .45 with ammunition, digital weighing scale, small scissors and one Bajaj motorcycle.

Appropriate charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 is being filed against the suspect.

"We continue working double-time to stop the proliferation of illegal drugs in the region, as we are relentless in our anti-drug operations, " Sermonia added.(PR)
