P2.7M ‘shabu’ seized in Bacolor town

Some P2.7-million worth of shabu were seized during a buy-bust operation launched by policemen in Barangay Cabetican, Bacolor town on Saturday.

Colonel Jay Dimaandal, director of Pampanga Police Provincial Office, said the illegal drugs were recovered from individuals whose names are withheld pending the investigation.

Policemen also seized one .45 caliber pistol, one .45 caliber magazine with three live rounds, one .38 caliber revolver loaded with three live rounds, a cellphone and a vehicle.

Charges are being prepared against the suspects for violations of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), Republic Act No. 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act), and the Omnibus Election Code, particularly the election gun ban.

The operation was launched by the Pampanga PPO, through its Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, in collaboration with the Provincial Intelligence Unit and Bacolor Municipal Police Station and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 3.
