P4M worth of 'shabu' seized in Angeles City

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- At least one kilogram of "shabu" (methamphetamine hydrochloride) amounting to P4 million was confiscated by police from a suspected notorious drug pusher during a drug bust in Barangay Cutud, Angeles City, Thursday.

Chief Superintendent Amador Corpus, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Central Luzon director, identified the suspect as Jay-Ann Salonga, 27, a resident of Mt. View Subdivision, Balibago, Angeles City.

Corpus said the City Drug Enforcement Unit in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Central Luzon conducted an anti-illegal drug operation against the suspect at Bagong Silang Phase III, Barangay Cutud of said city.

He said confiscated from the suspect were one brick aluminum plastic containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu with Chinese letter markings weighing more or less one kilogram, five medium size heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, a Taurus PT 24/7 PRO caliber .40 pistol, two magazine assembly loaded with ammunition, three cellphones, weighing scale, scissor, one black Ford Ranger pick-up truck with plate no. AAJ 5127 and P1,500 marked money.

Corpus said possessions of illegal drugs and firearms and ammunition were filed in court against the suspect. (Ric Sapnu)
