Pampanga posts P87M agri damage

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - The total number of palay crop damages caused by Severe Tropical Storm “Paeng” in Pampanga has reached 87,526,026, according to the October 31 reports coming from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA).

Apalit town alone reported some P60,510,792 worth of damages followed by San Simon with P16,894,560.

Strong winds and rain have also damaged palay crops in Mexico town which reported some P2,117,563 worth of damages followed by P1,287,312 worth of damages in palay crops in Bacolor town.

Other towns with reported crop damage include San Luis (P3,769,360), Candaba P1,295,387), Floridablanca (P678,650), and Guagua (P972,400).

The OPA also received reports of P790,322 worth of damage to corn and cassava crops in Mexico and another P29,091 worth of damage for the same crops in Porac town.

The total damage to corn and cassava crops is currently at P819,342.

Aside from the damages on agriculture, typhoon “Paeng” also left 11 houses partially damaged and five houses totally destroyed in the province.
