Pampanga records 234 new Covid-19 cases

SOME 234 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases were recorded in Pampanga on October 10, data from the Department of Health’s (DOH) coronavirus tracker showed.

This brought the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Pampanga to 66,058 as of Monday, October 11. Of this number, 62,438 have recovered from the disease. But the total number of active cases rose to 2,018.

Some 1,602 people have since died from the disease.

The DOH data showed that 51,278 of the confirmed cases are from Pampanga, while another 14,780 are from Angeles City.

Local data from the Provincial Government of Pampanga and Angeles City, however, vary on the actual number of cases, deaths and active cases.

The DOH said Pampanga had recorded 2,580 new cases in the last 14 days.

The DOH data also showed that local health facilities in Pampanga are now a little bit stretched with the number of coronavirus infections.

Of the 47 health facilities in Pampanga, six are now in critical level, while another eight are at high risk of no longer being able to accept new patients due to lack of available beds.

Pampanga’s bed occupancy is currently at 60.3 percent. This means that 785 of the total 1,302 hospital beds available in the province are currently occupied. Only 517 hospital beds remain vacant.
