THE local government in Apalit town, Pampanga has made another history as it opened the first-ever public skate park in the province.
The skate park, located inside the Apalit Municipal Hall in Barangay San Juan, is surrounded by lush trees and plants which makes it suitable for playing at any time of the day.
Developed by the local government of Apalit, the skate park is complete with deck and ramps, and various types of pipe where skateboarders can practice their skills.
Mayor Oscar “Jun” Tetangco Jr., who led the opening along with Vice Mayor Peter Nucom, said the development of the skate park is meant to encourage Apaliteños, especially youth, to engage in sports more.
“Kasama ito sa promotion ng healthy lifestyle sa mga Apaliteños at mabigyan ng magandang libangan ang mga kabataan para malayo sila sa hindi magandang gawain,” he said.
Tetangco, meanwhile, reminded those who will use the skate park to practice safety measures and wear necessary gears at all times.
“Para sa kasiyahan ito kaya sana doble ingat para maiwasan ang mga aksidente,” he said.
