Parts of Pampanga River above alert level - PDRRMO

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - Some parts of the Pampanga River have exceeded the alert level as of 5 AM yesterday, the Pampanga Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) reported.

Based on the Pampanga River Basin Assessment Levels of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the Arayat and Candaba stations of the river are already above the normal water level.

In Arayat, the water level has already reached 5.24 meters which is beyond the 5.0-meter alert level.

The alarm level for the said station starts at 6.0 meters, and its critical level is beyond 8.0 meters.

The water level in Candaba station was recorded at 4.32 meters which is above the 3.5-meter alert level. It is now nearing the 4.5-meter level alarm and 5.0-meter critical level.

The Sulipan station of the Pampanga River in Apalit town is now near the 2.6-meter alert level with its present water level reaching 2.48 meters as of yesterday morning.

The alarm level for the Sulipan station starts at 3.2 meters, while the critical level is beyond 3.8 meters.

The PDRRMO advised residents along the river to be cautious and immediately evacuate if necessary.
