Patrol Party-List thanks Duterte for lowering height requirement for uniformed applicants

AS A testament to his unwavering commitment to serve the Filipino people, Congressman Jorge "Patrol" Bustos, Representative, PATROL Party-List, thanked President Rodrigo Roa Duterte for lowering the height requirement for applicants for uniformed personnel .

Duterte recently signed Republic Act No. 11549 or the "Philippine National Police (PNP) Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and Bureau of Corrections(BuCor) Height Equality Act," which lowered the minimum height requirement for the applicants of the said agencies to 1.57 meters or 5 feet, 2 inches for males, and 1.52 meters or 5 feet for females, during its ceremonial signing at the Rizal Hall in MalacaƱang.

Joining Bustos at the signing were Senator Christopher Lawrence Bong Go, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, Senate President Vicente Tito Sotto III, and House Speaker Lord Allan Jay Velasco, among others.

From its inception until its presidential approval, Bustos has tirelessly ensured that Republic Act No. 11549 came into fruition. This is for the pursuit that no Filipino will be disenfranchised of their willingness, commitment, and passion to serve the country and its people, all in the name of the public safety advocacy.

"This is over and above the intent to protect, promote, and uphold the equal protection clause as enshrined in the 1987 Constitution", Bustos said.

Before becoming a dedicated legislator and member of the 18th Congress of the House of Representatives of the Philippines, Congressman Bustos was the presidemt of the Philippine National Police Academy Class of 1996.

Bustos has been in close collaboration with the Office of the President and the Office of Senator Bong Go in regards to addressing the interests and concerns of public safety sector as well as the formation of a Public Safety Auxiliary Force composed of a pool of reservists for the purpose of augmenting the PNP and BFP in their response against imminent threats and unforseen calamities, anchored on PATROL Party-List's advocacies of public safety and national development, continuously championing the rights and welfare of every Filipino family.
