PCL head eyes 2nd district board member slot

INCUMBENT Porac Councilor Fritzie David-Dizon is set to run as board member in the 2019 elections as one of the official candidates of the Kapanalig at Kambilan Ning Memalen Pampanga (Kambilan).

David-Dizon currently holds an ex-officio seat at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and is incumbent president of the Philippine Councilors' League (PCL) Pampanga Chapter.

David-Dizon said that she is poised on further helping more people in the second district with her brand of service. She added that she hopes to help in furthering legislative work that will help the lives of her would-be constituents in the area of health, livelihood and education.

“If given a chance by the people, I will be able to continue the legacy of the family in public service as well,” said David-Dizon said.

She is the sister of Porac Vice-Mayor Dexter David and daughter of the late Porac Mayor Roy David and former Pampanga acting governor Edna De Ausen-David.

She was appointed board member after her mother died on November 9, 2010 but did not run for an elective position in 2013 to focus more time on her family. She later entered town politics as municipal councilor in 2016. David-Dizon will run for board member in Pampanga’s second district which covers the towns of Floridablanca, Lubao, Porac, Santa Rita, Guagua and Sasmuan.

David-Dizon said that she, like her brother, will be guided by the leadership legacy of her father, the late Mayor Roy David who had a soft spot for the people of Porac. Roy David married the late Edna de Ausen, who also figured prominently in local politics. The siblings’ mother also served as former Pampanga acting governor after the suspension order issued by the Office of the Ombudsman in 2000 against then Governor Lito Lapid.

Her father was a former town councilor and was appointed mayor in 1986 shortly after EDSA People Power Revolution. Both distinguished themselves in public service.

Meanwhile, her brother, Vice-Mayor Dexter David, will run for mayor of Porac town. She added that she is confident in the leadership ability of her brother.
