PCSO awards P2.5-M financial aid to Bataan hospital

BALANGA CITY -- The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) awarded a PhP2.5 million check to Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) as financial aid to support the hospital’s efforts against the spread of coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Bataan branch manager Erlinda Yano said PCSO allotted PhP447 million financial assistance to hospital beneficiaries as pursuant to the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act.

“BGHMC is one of the 81 public hospitals in the country identified by PCSO that will receive financial aid,” Yano said.

She also clarified that the amount granted differs depending on the needs and capabilities of the hospital to fight Covid-19.

Yano personally turned over the check to Social Welfare Officer Gloria Canta and Administrative Officer Evangeline Macararanga, who both represented BGHMC Medical Center Chief Glory Baltazar.

“They can utilize the cash grant by purchasing personal protective equipment, reagents, testing kits, medicines, laboratory/diagnostic procedures, medicines, and other expenses relevant to Covid-19 purposes,” Yano furthered. (PIA-Central Luzon)
