THE Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) of Pampanga showcased its preparedness capacity in responding to local disasters and calamities by displaying its response capabilities, equipment and logistical resources yesterday.

The PDRRMO presented its response capacity during the launching of the National Disaster Reduction and Management Festival inside SM City Pampanga with Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda and local officials in attendance.

The event is part of the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) observation.

The annual observance of the NDRM emphasizes the importance of collaboration in addressing the challenges of Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management.

For this year, the NDRM theme is "Sambayanang Pilipino, Nagkakaisa tungo sa Katatagan at Maunlad na Kinabukasan." It highlights the unifying efforts of all sectors and communities toward sustainable development.

Pineda emphasized the provinces commitment to continually uphold standards in disaster response and continually upgrade and update the province’s disaster response capabilities.

The governor also lauded the PDRRMO for continually ensuring that the province is ready for any disaster response.

PDRRMO officer Angelina Blanco led the presentation of the disaster management office's response and the exhibition of the province’s disaster response capabilities.

The exhibit included the province’s logistical capabilities including ambulances, fire trucks, flotation devices, life vests, medical equipment among others.

The exhibit is currently on display at the SM City Pampanga event center.
