The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd), has launched Central Luzon's first ever 'Konsulta' provider clinic.
The facility is the first of its kind in DepEd regional offices nationwide. It will offer primary care services, including medical check-ups or consultations, diagnostic and laboratory tests, and maintenance medicines to teachers, students, faculty, administrative staff, and their family members.
The program is part of PhilHealth's thrust to cover all provinces in Central Luzon through the accreditation of Konsulta providers and facilities.
Since 2024, DepEd said the regional office in Central Luzon has integrated the PhilHealth Learners' Material into the DepEd Portal and engaged teachers and students in discussions to raise awareness about PhilHealth benefit programs and services.
The agency appeals for financial support from PhilHealth to ensure the sustainability of the project.
