PHS first beneficiary of Kayabe Ka free wifi

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO---Pampanga High School (PHS) in the City of San Fernando is the first beneficiary of the Kayabe Ka Free Public Wi-Fi program here.

The free internet service is a project of the City Government and telecommunications provider Converge ICT Solutions, Inc.

Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag and Converge Chief Executive Officer Dennis Anthony Uy on Wednesday led the launching of the free Wi-Fi program at the PHS.

Pampanga High School is the leading and largest secondary educational institution in the city.

The free wi-fi will be available in three buildings -- Ilang-Ilang, Gerbera, and Rose -- where the highest number of students in the campus stay.

More buildings at the PHS and other schools in the city will be provided access to the free wifi.

Caluag and Uy said they share the same vision of transforming San Fernando into a Smart Sustainable City where technology-driven initiatives are performed in the areas of education, public order and safety, and governance.

The duo added that more partnerships will be realized in the future, including the provision of learning equipment to the City College of San Fernando.

They also cited the installation of additional close-circuit televisions (CCTVs)in the city.
