BOARD Member Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab filed her certificate of candidacy before the office of the provincial Commission on Elections (Comelec) for reelection as second district board member as she dismissed rumors of her potential bid for the vice gubernatorial post.

Pineda-Cayabyab said that her fresh term will enable her to continue the legislative works started under the term of Vice Governor Lilia Pineda. She added that she will continue her advocacies on health, education and social services.

The lawmaker had been a three-term mayor of Lubao and is now on her first term as board member. She hosts the province's committees on health and appropriation.

Asked why she did not run for vice governor as earlier speculated, the younger Pineda said that Vice Governor Pineda is more than competent to lead as the province's vice governor.

The younger Pineda asked Kapampangans to fully support the current administration and to focus on the current pandemic programs rather than politics.

Pineda-Cayabyab said that she is concentrating on finishing the remainder of her term and is not thinking of the overall politics of 2022.

Governor Dennis Pineda joined his sister during her filing.

The governor expressed her full support on her candidacy and on the slate of the local Kambilan Party.
