PNP, Agriculture launch ‘Kaligkasan’ for back to province program

THE Department of Agriculture (DA) and Philippine National Police (PNP) formally launched the “PNP KaligKasan Food Security and Food Highway Project Jumpstarting the Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-Asa (BP2) Program” (EO 114, s.2020) at Camp Capt. Julian Olivas, City of San Fernando Pampanga on May 11.

One of the policy objectives of the BP2 Program Framework is Food Security and Agricultural Productivity which encourages and facilitates innovations and technologies for agricultural production.

During the said event, the DA and PNP also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on “Adopt A Family Balik Probinsya Program at Food Highway”.

In his message, Agriculture Secretary William Dar assured the PNP on DA’s full support and commitment on implementing the said program.

Meanwhile, PNP Chief PGen Archie Francisco F. Gamboa said that the PNP takes pride on the launching of the activity initiated by Police Regional Office III dubbed as “KaligKasan Project” thats aims for the establishment of community gardens, livestock raisings and aqua culture in the PNP camps in support to the urban agriculture project of the DA under the DA’s Plant Plant Plant Project and the “Balik Probinsya Program” which aims to sustain and secure food for the Filipino’s family as we are facing the Covid-19 pandemic.

After the signing of MOU, the unveiling of the Police Regional Office III Proposed Infrastructure Development, launching of PNP Food Bank and Hand Over of Donations, ribbon cutting ceremony of the newly-renovated Multi-purpose Hall took place.
