A POLICE general has shared the joy of giving to others this Christmas, especially to the Aetas living inside the Clark Special Economic Zone in Sitio Cuadra, Barangay San Vicente, Bamban town, Tarlac province.

Brigadier General Francisco M. Esguerra, director of the Central Luzon Police Regional Internal Affairs Service (Rias), said more than 200 individuals from the village benefitted from the outreach program on Friday, December 11, 2020.

"We are very happy na lahat ay cooperative. Ito ay ginawa natin para makatulong tayo sa ating mga kababayang katutubo dito sa area at mabahaginan ng kaunting biyaya," he said.

The project includes gift-giving, distributing toys to children, feeding, and turning over of food packages, Esguerra said.

"Ito ay joint activity ng Regional Internal Affairs Service at ng Regional Advisory Council, also in partnership with the Rotary Club of Pampanga North," the police official said.

During the gift-giving, Esguerra was accompanied by Regional Advisory Council head Lyndon Cunanan, Rotary Club of Pampanga North (RCPN) President Janette B. David, and RCPN Satelite Club president Mido Song.

Village chairperson Lily Dela Cruz and councilman Demsel Dolandolan received the donations on behalf of beneficiaries during a simple ceremony Friday morning.

Cunanan said the Rias clan started the outreach program two years ago with the support of various sectors affiliated with the Regional Advisory Council.

"As chairman ng Regional Advisory Council, nagpapasalamat ako sa mga miembro namin coming from different sectors of our society. Nagtulong tulong po kami upang magkaroon ng ganitong activity," Cunanan said.

He added gifts and food packages will be distributed to houses of Aetas in adherence to Covid-19 safety protocols.
