PORAC-- Mayor Jaime "Jing" Capil and Vice Mayor Francis "Budoy" Tamayo led the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) held at the Bayung Porac Command Center On Wednesday, Sept. 7.
The drill is aimed to prepare municipal employees in the event of an earthquake.
The local executives urged the private to launch drills in support of the NSED while strictly observing minimum public health standards.
This is in line with the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council initiative on academic institutions, businesses, and private and government offices to ensure compliance with minimum public health standards while doing evacuation drills.
Offices may opt not to make evacuation drills if the circumstances do not permit it.
In 2021, the NSED for the first and second quarters was held on March 11 and June 10, respectively.
The third quarter national earthquake drill was on September 16 while the fourth quarter drill was on November 11.
