VICE-Mayor Dexter David and Mayor Condralito dela Cruz led the distribution of educational assistance to Porac students at the Pias covered court on Tuesday, November 13.
The assistance was given to high school students from Porac town who are studying at Natividad High School, Becuran High School and San Basilio High School.
David said the financial assistance program aims to help indigents with their tuition. He said it is enough to inspire the students to pursue their studies.
He said it is the responsibility of not just the parents to send their children to school but also of the whole community.
The students are encouraged to maintain a certain grade average to maintain membership in the program. This in turn ensures that the students become more determined to see their studies through.
"The local government could only do too little. This is why we encourage those who get government support to make the best of what they get from government," David added. (Ian Ocampo Flora)
