The first day of the local campaign period in Central Luzon on March 28 concluded without any reported incidents, the Police Regional Office III (PRO-3) said.

Brigadier General Jean Fajardo, PRO-3 director, said the start of the campaign period was generally peaceful.

She expressed hope that the situation will remain the same until the election day on May 12, 2025.

Fajardo said law enforcement agencies will continue to implement security measures.

The Commission on Elections and Philippine National Police conduct checkpoints, OPLAN Sita, and Simulation Exercises, to ensure public safety, she added.

“The Philippine National Police, alongside our partner agencies, is fully committed to providing the highest level of security to guarantee a safe, orderly, honest, and peaceful election on May 12,” Fajardo said.

She added that the PNP continues to monitor election-related activities and enforce security protocols to maintain order throughout the election period.
