PUBLIC school teachers in the City of San Fernando were encouraged on Tuesday, July 24, to take up farming during the launching and technical briefing on container farming and edible landscaping at the Sindalan Elementary School.
The Edukasyong Pantahanan at Pangkabuhayan (EPP) and Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) teachers from different educational institutions participated in the event.
The event’s main objectives were to improve the knowledge of the students on the benefits of eating vegetables, reinforce urban agriculture, and attain food security.
The briefing was conducted by the City Agriculture and Veterinary Office (CAVO), which also discussed on how to tend to school and community gardens through various farming strategies, maintenance methods and techniques.
