RDRRMC reports no casualties in onslaught of typhoons, habagat

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO---The Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) disclosed that no casualties were reported due to the onslaught of tropical cyclones Egay and Falcon in Central Luzon in the past successive weeks.

In its Situational Report No. 2 (effects of southwest monsoon) dated August 5, 6:00 pm Saturday, the RDRRMC noted that no casualties (dead, injured, and missing) were reported by local disaster risk reduction and management offices across Central Luzon.

The report shows that as of August 5, a total of 6,923 families and 23,798 individuals are continuously being served in 318 still evacuation centers.The number is part of the total 653,856 families and 2,402,874 persons affected in 1,056 barangays in the provinces of Aurora (1), Bataan (102), Bulacan (260), Nueva Ecija (91), Pampanga (308), Tarlac (187) and Zambales (107).

The RDRRMC status report also noted that there are no reported cancelled domestic flights and international flights and no stranded passengers in seaports as of August 5, with all reported temporary suspension of voyages and temporary suspension of movements of vessels has already been lifted.

In terms of flooding, the RDRRMC reported a total of 407 flooded barangays in the provinces of Bataan (20), Bulacan (163),

Pampanga (207), and Tarlac (17), due to high tide, intermittent rain showers, thunderstorms, and monsoon rains.

Two roads in the region are not passable to all types of vehicle while eight roads in Pampanga are still not passable to light vehicles as of the reporting period.

Damages to agricultural land (rice, corn, high value crops, and live stocks stand at P1,277,324,025.78, fisheries and aquatic resources at P482,652,106.65 and infrastructure at P1,904,740,024.02.

The RDRRMC cited the latest Pagasa weekend forecast where fair weather---except for Nueva Ecija, Tarlac and Zambales with cloudy skies--- in Central Luzon is prevailing.
