Religious exhibit opens at Guagua Mansion

THE Confraternity of Our Lady of La Concolacion Y Correa will be hosting the grand exhibit of Augustinian Saints from August 25 to 31, with the exhibit's opening set 8:00 a.m. Saturday, August 25, at the Guagua Mansion.

The Guagua Mansion, otherwise known as Lopez Mansion, is a majestic residence and office built by the sugar magnate Don Alejandro Lopez of Guagua. The exhibit will be the first public religious exhibition inside the newly restored building which has been re-purposed for public functions and events.

The exhibit will bring together religious icons of the saints of the Augustinian Order decked in their fine embroidered vestments and bejeweled metal works. The images are under the care of different devotees. The event is in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary under the Augustinian title of Our Lady of Consolation.

Historically, Pampanga is the first province organized under the Spanish rule and was effectively organized through the Augustinian missionaries who served in its various parishes and built the historic church structures of the province that still stand today.
