THE Rotary Club of Central Pampanga (RCCP) has teamed up with the University of the Assumption for the upkeep of an eco garden in the City of San Fernando that aims to showcase organic trees and medicinal plants.

RCCP, headed by president Coney Cruz–Miclat, and University of the Assumption (UA) Community Extension Office (UA CEO) chaired by Sr. Marissa Figueroa, OP, led the a recent greening activity inside the said garden.

Before the planting of variegated lemon seedlings, Sr. Marissa led the volunteers and participants including RCCPIANS (members of RC Central Pampanga), members of the Interact Club of UA led by its moderator, Mr. Reynante Sandico and Interact Pres. Mark Christian Lara, some Junior HS faculty and a College professor in praying and blessing the variegated lemon tree seedlings and the soil.

The UA Eco farm which used to be an abandoned lot is now teeming with fruit-bearing trees and medicinal plants. Compost, an organic fertilizer which the caretakers of the eco farm produce, is used in revitalizing the soil.

Through the eco farm, UA students, the faculty and non-teaching staff as well as the administration are immersed in caring for the environment through active involvement in planting and maintaining the farm.
