CITY OF SAN FERNANDO —Furniture makers in San Simon town received various equipment from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Provincial Government of Pampanga.
DOLE officials together with Governor Dennis 'Delta' Pineda and Vice Governor Lilia 'Nanay' Pineda turned over the equipment to the group of furniture makers on Monday, June 26.
The equipment donated to the 50-member group costs around P260,000.
The group manufactures furniture items such as double decks, living room sets, bed frames, and others.
DOLE said the assistance is part of the department's "Integrated Livelihood Assistance Program" which aims to support the marginalized sectors, informal sectors or individuals who have the ability to manage a business to have a proper livelihood.
Also present at the turn-over ceremony were PESO Manager Luningning Vergara; Board Members Mylyn Pineda-Caybyab, Fritzie David-Dizon, Nelson Calara, Ananias Canlas Jr, Pol Balingit, and Gabby Mutuc.
