THE Provincial Government of Pampanga visited five coastal barangays in Sasmuan town and administered Covid-19 vaccines for senior citizens in an effort to stem the spread of the virus among the most at risk sectors.

Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda and the Provincial Government’s medical teams personally visited the barangays Mabuanbuan, Malusak, Sebitanan, Batang 1st and Batang 2nd.

According to Governor Delta, the Provincial Government aims to provide convenience and affordable vaccines especially to senior citizens in coastal areas such as Sasmuan town.

The said barangays are the most remote areas in the town and could only be reached through boats, which poses a difficulty in terms of mobilizing residents to gather in the town center for vaccination.

The rollout was attended by Lubao Mayor Esmeralda Pineda, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office chief Angelina Blanco, Provincial Health Office chief Dr. Zenon Ponce, Central Command Deputy for Vaccination Rollout Malu Lacson, Diosdado P. Macapagal Memorial Hospital Chief of Hospital Dr. Fleur Zapanta, and Incident Commander for Vaccination Rollout Dr. Dax Tidula.

Meanwhile, the free Covid-19 vaccines will also be administered and delivered to senior citizens in the coastal barangays of Lubao, Macabebe and Masantol in the coming weeks.
