NOT even the ongoing coronavirus pandemic can stop the Yuletide spirit as SM City Pampanga and SM City Telabastagan launched their respective Christmas centerpieces, ushering in the start of the Christmas season for mall goers.
SM City Pampanga Public Relations manager Rain Cervantes said the event aims to give mallgoers a different Christmas experience when visiting the mall, adding that SM aims to create a unique Christmas experience for young mall goers.
At SM City Pampanga, a 27-foot Christmas tree made of golden posts and sputnik lamps was lighted by government and local officials. Platform designs were made by local Betis woodcrafts men and pinukpuk makers.
SM City Telebastagan boasted its 35 feet Magical Glasshouse. Christmas trees with capiz ornaments made by local parol and capiz makers from City of San Fernando were also lighted during the event over the weekend.
The said the attractions aim to bring about fond memories of Christmas and would surely delight both the children and the young at heart. The centerpiece lightings were usually held in grand celebrations inside the malls, but this year health protocols were observed and only a handful of guests saw to the yearly Christmas tradition inside SM malls.
