Syrian nabbed in San Fernando

THE most wanted personality in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga was arrested by local authorities recently.

The city’s chief of police, Lieutenant Colonel John Clark, identified the arrested individual as Abdul Karim Kouefati, 44, a Syrian national.

The suspect was nabbed by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by a family court in the city for violation of Republic Act 7610, or conduct of lascivious acts, with a recommended bail of P200,000.

“This feat is a clear manifestation that no one is above the law. The City of San Fernando police are working day and night to ensure that the lawless shall eventually face their crime before the court of law,” Clark said.

Meanwhile, nine illegal drug personalities were also arrested on the same day from four different operations.

A total 32 sachets weighing 18 grams of methampethamine hydrochloride (shabu) with an estimated street value of P122,400, and a caliber .38 gun and other paraphernalia were recovered during the operations.

All are now facing charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2002.

Also, 46 health protocol violators were apprehended for non-wearing of face masks in public places, a violation of the Executive Order 11-2021, while five more were nabbed for violation of Presidential Decree 1602, otherwise known as the Anti-Gambling Law.

“Let this be a reminder to those who still do not take our anti-criminality campaign seriously. I suggest that you veer away from your illegal activities. Take this as a warning, we are always on the look-out and we are ready to put you behind bars no matter what,” he said.
